Author-source guidance, not a completed in-game test. How we review · Report a correction

Check documented patch support before updating your frameworks. Our reviewed sources identify RED4ext 1.31.0 and redscript 0.5.32 for game 2.5. A newer release date alone does not establish that a mod works on your patch. RED4ext 1.31.0 requires game version 2.5, and the current ArchiveXL and TweakXL builds require RED4ext 1.31.0 or newer, so mixing an old loader with new plugins (or the reverse) still stops the game from starting.

The table attempts to refresh public GitHub release data daily when the page is requested. Each row shows its source date; failed requests retain older data. Reviewed author support is shown separately and applies to the named version only. Mods hosted only on Nexus Mods are covered below.

Which mods have a release since patch 2.5

14 of 19 tracked projects have a verified stable release dated on or after 2026-10-22. Publication dates do not establish compatibility with patch 2.5. Check dates and fallback labels are shown per project.

Publication dates and pre-release flags come from GitHub’s API. Failed requests retain previous data or the saved snapshot without changing its date. Reviewed support applies only to the named version and source, not automatically to newer releases or a complete mod setup.

How to read the table

  • Released since the patch: the author published a stable release on or after 22 October 2026. When the release name itself says "for 2.50", the row notes that the author targets 2.5.
  • Pre-release since the patch: a beta or release candidate published after the patch, with no stable release since. Use it only if the author's notes say so, and keep a backup.
  • Latest recorded release predates patch: there is no release since the patch. That does not prove the mod is broken; check the author's page and the row's source date before relying on it.
  • Publication details not verified: GitHub could not supply verified publication fields; the version link still opens the release for you to check.

A release date is a signal, not a game test. The authors' own notes decide what each release supports.

Update order after 2.5

  1. RED4ext 1.31.0 or newer. Its release notes raise the minimum game version to 2.5, so it will not run on older patches.
  2. redscript 0.5.32 or newer. The 0.5.32 release adds support for the script bundles that patch 2.5 ships.
  3. Cyber Engine Tweaks, which now requires RED4ext. See the CET dependency review.
  4. ArchiveXL, TweakXL and Codeware, choosing versions whose author documentation supports your game and loader. The pinned evidence below names the releases reviewed; do not substitute upload dates for support statements.
  5. Launch once with only these installed. Then add the mods that depend on them, a few at a time.

Mods that are not on GitHub

Most Cyberpunk mods are released on Nexus Mods. For those, read the author’s description, pinned posts and changelog for explicit game-version support, then choose the matching file in the Files tab. If no patch support is stated, record it as unverified. As a rule of thumb:

  • Archive-only mods (clothing, hair, textures, meshes): check whether the mod also needs ArchiveXL, TweakXL or another dependency, and whether the author reports patch-specific issues.
  • Mods that ship scripts or plugins can be sensitive to patch changes: .reds files under r6/scripts, .dll plugins under red4ext/plugins, and CET Lua mods. Check the author’s support statement for 2.5; an older release is not automatically broken.

The dependency checker lists which frameworks a tracked mod needs, so you know what to update first.

If the game still will not start

Work through Cyberpunk 2.5 mods not working: fixes by error message for the specific symptom, or the flatline crash fix to isolate the mod that stops the launch.

On PS5 or Xbox, none of this applies: console mods update through the in-game Mods menu. See the PS5 and Xbox mods list.

Release evidence for the core frameworks

The records below pin each framework release to the README commit we reviewed on 26 October 2026. They are the same records the directory and the dependency checker use.

Release evidence

These records do not certify a working combination or verify your installed files.

Open this dependency plan

The reviewed ArchiveXL and TweakXL READMEs require RED4ext 1.31.0+ for installation and list redscript 0.5.32+ under compatibility. Codeware lists RED4ext as its installation requirement and names compatible redscript and CET versions separately. CET 1.38.1's README requires RED4ext but does not name a game patch, so a CET release alone does not show that every CET mod works on 2.5.

Before updating a working setup, record your game patch and every installed release, keep a clean save, and change one thing at a time.
