- Script extensions
Using it in your game
TweakXL lets a mod describe changes to the game’s TweakDB through data files and script extensions. Install it for a mod that explicitly names it as a requirement.
Use the dependent mod’s expected change as your test. TweakXL loading successfully does not establish that another mod’s values or scripts match your game release.
Before you choose
Read dependencies for the exact release; do not substitute REDmod for RED4ext.
Requirements
- RED4ext
Loads native plugins used by frameworks such as ArchiveXL and Codeware. REDmod is a separate tool.
Open this mod and its tracked prerequisites together. External runtimes still need your confirmation.
Open the dependency plan →Install and check
- Back up your saves and note the game version shown in the main menu.
- Open the author’s download page and install the requirements listed for your chosen release.
- Follow that release’s extraction instructions, keeping a record of the installed files.
- Launch once with this mod before adding another. Use the success check below.
How to check the result
Inspect RED4ext logs for the plugin and check the dependent mod’s expected in-game change.
Try this check before adding another mod, so a failure points to the change you just made.
Mods that use TweakXL
These directory entries name this mod as a prerequisite. Install only the content you want and follow each author’s release requirements.
Cyberware-EX
Expands cyberware slot options, including combinations of operating-system implants.
Equipment-EX
Adds a wardrobe interface for combining compatible clothing and managing saved outfits.
Let There Be Flight

Virtual Car Dealer
Provides a virtual vehicle shop that compatible car packs can populate through TweakXL.
Update or roll back
Use the author’s uninstall instructions for the installed release. Restore a clean save if your modded save depends on removed content. Keep shared frameworks used by other mods.
Questions about TweakXL
What changes after installing TweakXL?
It enables data changes supplied by dependent mods. Test the change described by a particular dependent mod rather than expecting TweakXL to provide a standalone gameplay preset.
Can I use TweakXL instead of ArchiveXL?
No. Their roles differ: TweakXL changes TweakDB data, while ArchiveXL loads resources. Follow the separate requirements named by your chosen mod.
