What changes
- Lua console and mod scripting
- Configurable overlay key
Using it in your game
On first launch, assign a key to the CET overlay. Use that same key to open the console and the interfaces supplied by participating Lua mods.
If the overlay does not appear, check the author’s window-mode and overlay guidance before reinstalling unrelated frameworks. The CET log is under bin/x64/plugins/cyber_engine_tweaks.
Before you choose
A framework, not a graphics preset. Its Windows DLL loader cannot be installed through the console mod.io browser.
Requirements
- RED4ext
Loads native plugins used by frameworks such as ArchiveXL and Codeware. REDmod is a separate tool.
- Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable (x64)
Windows runtime needed by the native loader. Install the x64 package linked by the author.
Open this mod and its tracked prerequisites together. External runtimes still need your confirmation.

- Install RED4ext first, as required by the CET 1.38.1 README. Download a CET release matching your game patch from the author’s releases, not the source-code archive.
- Extract into the Cyberpunk 2077 game root, merging the included bin folder.
- Confirm bin/x64/version.dll and the CET plugin files are present; avoid a second nested bin folder.
- Launch the game and assign an overlay key. Follow the author’s troubleshooting notes if it does not appear.
How to check the result
Bind the overlay key on first launch, open the console, and inspect the CET log if it fails.
Try this check before adding another mod, so a failure points to the change you just made.

Questions about Cyber Engine Tweaks (CET)
How do I open the CET overlay?
Assign an overlay key when CET first launches, then use that key again. If the first-launch prompt does not appear, check the installation path, game-window mode and overlay guidance in the author documentation.
Does CET replace RED4ext?
No. CET provides a Lua console and scripting environment; RED4ext loads native plugins. Install the framework named by each mod rather than treating the two as interchangeable.
