What changes
- Settings integration for participating redscript mods
- A common location for their configuration
Using it in your game
Use a participating redscript mod as your test for the settings page. Only mods that integrate with this framework supply options there.
Native Settings UI is a separate CET framework. Check which system a mod’s author names rather than installing both to troubleshoot a missing settings entry.
Before you choose
Installing this does not put every mod’s settings in one menu. Native Settings UI is a separate CET-based project.
Requirements
- ArchiveXL
Loads additional resources so custom assets can be added alongside original game content.
- RED4ext
Loads native plugins used by frameworks such as ArchiveXL and Codeware. REDmod is a separate tool.
- redscript
Compiles script mods at game startup. A compile error needs a script-level diagnosis, not another framework installed at random.
Open this mod and its tracked prerequisites together. External runtimes still need your confirmation.
Open the dependency plan →Install and check
- Back up your saves and note the game patch shown in the main menu. Keep the downloaded archive’s installed-file list.
- Install the selected release’s ArchiveXL, RED4ext and redscript requirements first.
- Install the original Mod Settings archive using the author’s instructions, retaining its game-root folder structure.
- Launch with a supported dependent mod and open that mod’s documented settings page.
How to check the result
Check that the participating mod’s options appear. Do not use an unrelated CET mod as the test.
Try this check before adding another mod, so a failure points to the change you just made.
Mods that use Mod Settings
These directory entries name this mod as a prerequisite. Install only the content you want and follow each author’s release requirements.
Virtual Atelier
A framework for in-game clothing stores and item previews. Install a separate store and its items to populate the catalog.
Update or roll back
Keep the original archive’s file list. Check dependent mods before disabling or removing the framework; restore their configuration if needed.
Questions about Mod Settings
Can Native Settings UI replace Mod Settings?
No. Follow the named dependency: Mod Settings exposes redscript configuration, while Native Settings UI serves participating CET mods.
Why is my installed mod not in this menu?
Only mods implementing this settings integration appear. Read the feature mod’s documentation for its actual menu or configuration file.
