What changes

  • Vehicle flight modes
  • Configurable inputs

Using it in your game

Start with one vehicle in a test save and use the bindings supplied with your installed release. Flight mode and normal driving should be tested separately.

The author documents keyboard and controller bindings in red4ext/let_there_be_flight/inputs.xml. Read release-specific upgrade instructions before replacing an existing setup.

For the author’s game 2.50 release, ArchiveXL is optional on game 2.5+. Older builds list it as required; use the requirements for the file you actually install.

Before you choose

The author labels the latest release for game 2.50, but this site has not flown it in-game. Install the release that matches your game version and keep a clean save.

Requirements

  • RED4ext

Loads native plugins used by frameworks such as ArchiveXL and Codeware. REDmod is a separate tool.

  • TweakXL

Enables data changes used by mods that add or alter items, stats and game behavior.

  • Input Loader

Merges participating mods’ custom input XML so their key bindings can be loaded by the game.

  • redscript

Compiles script mods at game startup. A compile error needs a script-level diagnosis, not another framework installed at random.

Open this mod and its tracked prerequisites together. External runtimes still need your confirmation.

Install and check

  1. Back up your saves and note the game version shown in the main menu.
  2. Open the author’s download page and install the requirements listed for your chosen release.
  3. Follow that release’s extraction instructions, keeping a record of the installed files.
  4. Launch once with this mod before adding another. Use the success check below.

How to check the result

Use the keybindings from the installed release to enter flight mode in a test save.

Try this check before adding another mod, so a failure points to the change you just made.

Update or roll back

Use the author’s uninstall instructions for the installed release. Restore a clean save if your modded save depends on removed content. Keep shared frameworks used by other mods.
