What changes
- Shared activation hook for DQC quests
- Phone utilities for participating mods
Using it in your game
DQC supplies activation support for participating quest mods. Pick a content mod that explicitly needs it; installing the core alone does not add a quest pack.
After adding a dependent mod, leave and re-enter V’s first apartment in H10. Check the phone utilities and the dependent mod’s own activation conditions separately.
Before you choose
A prerequisite rather than a quest pack. It does not add playable quests by itself.
Requirements
No additional mod prerequisite is named in the checked author description. Recheck the current release before installing.
Open this mod and its tracked prerequisites together. External runtimes still need your confirmation.
Open the dependency plan →Use the in-game Mods menu for these platform releases. A listing on mod.io is not a guarantee that a modded save is compatible with every update.
Install in game
- Keep a manual save made before using mods. Open Mods in the game’s main menu and connect your CD PROJEKT RED account to mod.io.
- Find this exact title and author. Confirm a release for your platform. Install its listed prerequisites first, then select Install for this mod.
- Wait for the download, return to the main menu and confirm that the mod is enabled. Follow any restart prompt.
- Install DQC before a mod that requires it, then leave and re-enter V’s first apartment in H10. Repeat this visit after adding another dependent mod.
How to check the result
Look for the DQC utility text on V’s phone, then check the dependent mod’s own activation conditions.
Try this check before adding another mod, so a failure points to the change you just made.
Mods that use Deceptious Quest Core
These directory entries name this mod as a prerequisite. Install only the content you want and follow each author’s release requirements.
Idle Anywhere [DQC]
Adds an idle menu for smoking, drinking and eating while standing in the world. Requires DQC.
Scannable Stash [DQC]
Scan apartment weapon displays to identify collected weapons and missing slots. Requires DQC.
Update or roll back
Keep your pre-mod save. Read the author’s update or removal notes before changing an ongoing playthrough. If a dependent mod uses DQC, retain DQC until its dependants are removed. Disabling a mod does not guarantee that an existing save returns to an unmodded state.
Questions about Deceptious Quest Core
DQC is installed but nothing happens. What should I check?
Leave and re-enter H10. Check that DQC and your chosen content mod are enabled; DQC alone does not add a new quest.
Do all Deceptious mods require DQC?
No. Follow each description. The [DQC] label or an explicit requirement identifies a dependent project.
