What changes
- Stash search fields
- Backpack search by item text
Using it in your game
Choose the download for the screen you want to search: the author provides Backpack and Stash files separately.
Search for an item you already know is present, then clear the text. The matching item should appear and the full list should return after clearing the search.
Before you choose
Backpack Search and Stash Search are separate files on the author page. Choose the screens you want; avoid overlapping menu replacements without checking compatibility.
Requirements
- Codeware
A shared library for participating redscript and CET mods, including UI and game-system extensions.
- RED4ext
Loads native plugins used by frameworks such as ArchiveXL and Codeware. REDmod is a separate tool.
- redscript
Compiles script mods at game startup. A compile error needs a script-level diagnosis, not another framework installed at random.
Open this mod and its tracked prerequisites together. External runtimes still need your confirmation.
Open the dependency plan →Install and check
- Back up your saves and note the game patch shown in the main menu. Keep the downloaded archive’s installed-file list.
- Install Codeware, RED4ext and redscript releases matching your game and each other.
- Choose the author’s Backpack Search and/or Stash Search file and extract into the game root.
- Open the corresponding menu, search a known item, then clear the search.
How to check the result
The chosen screen should have a search field. Verify a known item appears and that clearing restores the list.
Try this check before adding another mod, so a failure points to the change you just made.
Update or roll back
The author identifies r6/scripts/stashSearch.reds and r6/scripts/backpackSearch.reds for removal. Remove only the selected files and retain shared frameworks.
Questions about Stash and Backpack Search
Why do I have search in only one menu?
Check whether you installed the Backpack Search file, Stash Search file, or both.
Can I combine it with another inventory UI overhaul?
Check both authors’ compatibility notes. Two mods changing the same screen can need a patch; do not assume matching dependencies prevent UI conflicts.
