What changes
- Settings controls for compatible mods
- Controller-friendly menu
Using it in your game
Install a compatible CET mod that actually integrates with Native Settings UI. Its settings should then be available through the Mods settings menu.
A missing tab is not enough to diagnose a broken installation: check whether the selected mod uses this framework, rather than the separate Mod Settings framework.
Before you choose
Only participating mods add settings here. A missing tab does not mean every mod is broken.
Requirements
- Cyber Engine Tweaks (CET)
Adds a Lua console and overlay used by CET-based mods. Install it when your selected mod requires CET.
Open this mod and its tracked prerequisites together. External runtimes still need your confirmation.
Open the dependency plan →Install and check
- Back up your saves and note the game version shown in the main menu.
- Open the author’s download page and install the requirements listed for your chosen release.
- Follow that release’s extraction instructions, keeping a record of the installed files.
- Launch once with this mod before adding another. Use the success check below.
How to check the result
Open the Mods settings menu and check the tab provided by a compatible dependent mod.
Try this check before adding another mod, so a failure points to the change you just made.
Update or roll back
Use the author’s uninstall instructions for the installed release. Restore a clean save if your modded save depends on removed content. Keep shared frameworks used by other mods.
Questions about Native Settings UI
Why is there no settings tab for my mod?
Only mods that integrate with Native Settings UI add controls to it. Check your selected mod’s author instructions before treating a missing tab as a failed framework installation.
Is Native Settings UI the same as Mod Settings?
No. Native Settings UI is a CET-based framework; Mod Settings serves participating redscript mods. Use the one explicitly required by your mod.
