What changes
- Black Carbon color replacement
- Applies to characters using that shared profile
Using it in your game
Select the existing Black Carbon profile when checking V’s appearance. Compare under the same lighting so a lighting change does not mask the replacement.
This replaces a shared color profile rather than adding a hairstyle or color slot. NPCs using Black Carbon can change too, and another replacement for the same profile may compete with it.
Before you choose
This replaces a shared color profile, not a hairstyle. NPCs using Black Carbon are affected too. Avoid combining replacements for the same profile.
Requirements
No additional mod prerequisite is named in the checked author description. Recheck the current release before installing.
Use the in-game Mods menu for these platform releases. A listing on mod.io is not a guarantee that a modded save is compatible with every update.
Install in game
- Keep a manual save made before using mods. Open Mods in the game’s main menu and connect your CD PROJEKT RED account to mod.io.
- Find this exact title and author. Confirm a release for your platform. Install its listed prerequisites first, then select Install for this mod.
- Wait for the download, return to the main menu and confirm that the mod is enabled. Follow any restart prompt.
- Select Black Carbon when checking V’s hair appearance. Compare under the same lighting.
How to check the result
Check the Black Carbon profile specifically; selecting another hair color will not show the replacement.
Try this check before adding another mod, so a failure points to the change you just made.
Update or roll back
Keep your pre-mod save. Read the author’s update or removal notes before changing an ongoing playthrough. If a dependent mod uses DQC, retain DQC until its dependants are removed. Disabling a mod does not guarantee that an existing save returns to an unmodded state.
Questions about Actually Black Hair Color
